Contemporary brown calf, partly worn, some bumped corners, gilt edges of covers, gilt spines in six (compartments vol. VII different decoration), small damages at head and foot, red edges. Minor foxing and spotting. 4 volumes.

Includes the following of Chinese interest by Gottlieb Siegfried Bayer:
Vol. III. "Elementa litteraturae brahmanicae tangutanae mungalicae" with 10 folding engraved plates, numbered I-X.
Vol. IV: "Elementa brahmanica tangutana, mungalica" with 10 folding engraved plates numbered XI-XX.
Vol. VI: "De litteratura mangiurica" with 7 engraved plates, and "De lexico sinico Çù gvéy [Zi Hui]"
Vol. VII: With Bayer's last major work "De Confucii libro Chun çieu" [the Spring and Autnum Annals, the Chun qiu], with 5 engraved plates. It also includes Bayer's "Elementa calmucica" with 1 folding engraved plate.
