Engraved map of America with outline colour, figurative cartouche with Neptun and natives in black and white, draped scale of miles, c. 470x580 mm. Small wear to lower centrefold, minor foxing. Framed (Flodin in Stockholm).

Re-engraved version of Delisle's foundation map of North America and almost identical to the Delisle map, with California shown not as an island, but with its peninsular position. Both French and English settlements are shown. With the title also in Latin "America Septentrionalis..." . The first mention of what would be called the Sargasso Sea is noted in the North Atlantic.
